There are many different connectors used for accessing target systems. These connectors are used to program, debug and trace target devices.
Following connectors are some of the most widely used.
20-Pin (0.10") - Standard Debug Connector
The standard debug connector has been in use for many years. It supports JTAG as well as SWD.
The header uses following dimensions: 1.3" x 0.365" (33 mm x 9.27mm) (e.g. Samtec TST-110-01-L-D).
It is also known as the "ARM Standard JTAG Connector".
See here for further information about the pin header: https://www.samtec.com/products/tst
19-Pin (0.05") - Debug+ETM Connector
This smaller header supports JTAG and SWD, but can also be used for ETM.
The header uses following dimensions: 0.50" x 0.188" (12.7 mm x 4.78 mm) (e.g. Samtec FTSH-1110-01). Variants with removed pin 7 (keying) can be used as well.
It is also known as the "Cortex Debug+ETM Connector".
See here for further information: https://www.samtec.com/standards/jtag
9-Pin (0.05") - Debug Connector
This connector also supports JTAG and SWD, and has almost the same capabilities of the larger 20-Pin Standard Debug Connector, while reducing the amount of used pins.
The header uses following dimensions: 0.25" x 0.188" (6.35 mm x 4.78 mm) (e.g. Samtec FTSH-105-01). Variants with removed pin 7 (keying) can be used as well.
It is also known as the "Cortex Debug Connector".
